
Overnight Fire Displaces Couple in Upper Kent, N.B.
A man and woman lost their home early Thursday in a fire in Upper Kent, just north of Bath, New Brunswick.
Firefighters were called out around 1 a.m. to the blaze on Upper Kent Road, midway between Perth-Andover and Florenceville, according to Canadian Red Cross spokesman Dan Bedell.
Disaster volunteers with the Red Cross are assisting the couple with emergency lodging and personal-care items, and will follow up later in the day on other emergency needs.
Temperatures plunged to about -15°C overnight. We'll have additional details as we learn more.
