Two Northern Maine Community College students are receiving $500 scholarships and have been named to the All-Maine Academic Team for two-year colleges.

On Wednesday, March 23 Crystal Condo and Amanda Eivers, both of Presque Isle were honored during a ceremony at the Senator Inn in Augusta.  The Maine Community College System Board of Trustees hosted the event which honors two students from each of Maine’s community colleges.

Condo is enrolled in NMCC’s Health Information Management program. She has a 3.75 grade point average, volunteers as an advocate for the homeless and has been involved in several on-campus fundraisers.  Condo, a mother of two, plans to continue her education to become a registered health information administrator.

Eivers is enrolled in the Nursing program and previously earned her bachelor’s degree in business.  She plans to enter the workforce when she graduates while completing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing.  She is currently the president of the college’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and maintains a 4.0 grade point average.
