Authorities continue to search for a Tennessee woman who went missing in Western Maine while hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Police executed a search warrant yesterday at the Canadian office of a U.S. railway company to collect evidence in a criminal investigation related to a disastrous oil train derailment this month.

Bangor police helped save a man’s life after he was found unconscious in a parking lot — then arrested him on drug trafficking charges.

A sawmill in Miramichi  in northern New Brunswick has laid off 110 people, saying it’s getting only 40 per cent of the wood from Crown land that it needs to continue operations.

The Northern Maine Fair kicked off today and runs for eight days at the fairgrounds in Presque Isle.
