Police were called to a confrontation at the Houlton Jr./Sr. High School yesterday afternoon.  Houlton Police Chief Butch Asselin said it began with a dispute between two 15 year old students–a boy and a girl.

The psychiatric evaluation of a man accused of stabbing a Maritime Bus driver in Perth-Andover last month has been completed. 27-year-old Ryan Hickey of Moncton  made a brief appearance in Grand Falls provincial court Tuesday.

The State legislature is advancing a bill aimed at creating more jobs for Maine loggers. The measure would ban the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry from contracting for timber harvesting with contractors who use foreign workers.
