
Multi-Vehicle Crash with Tractor-Trailer & Two Vehicles in Maine
A tractor-trailer and two other vehicles were involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Bethel Saturday morning around 9:14 am.
Car Slid in Front of Tractor-Trailer
The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said a Volvo with three adults “failed to stop at the intersection of Route 5 and Route 2, sliding into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer.”
Three People not Injured
The 22-year-old driver, Fiona Hume from Braintree, MA, and her two passengers were not injured. The Volvo was heavily damaged.
Tractor-Trailer and Second Car Collided
Deputies said the tractor-trailer was skidding after the initial impact from the Volvo when a Toyota Rav 4 collided with the rig.
Man and Woman not Injured
The tractor-trailer driver, 57-year-old Scott Lee from Jackman, was not injured. The semi had extensive damage. The Toyota driver, 39-year-old Meagan Lunney from Bethel, was not injured. Her vehicle had minor damage.
Snow, Inattention and Speed were Factors
The Sheriff’s Office said “snowy road conditions, along with driver inattention and speed contributed to the cause of this crash.”
