RCMP pulled the man's vehicle over Monday afternoon on Route 15 in Moncton and found pills believed to be hydromorphone, according to Sgt. Tim Feeney.

The RCMP in New Brunswick's Federal Operations and the Codiac Regional RCMP later executed a search warrant at the man’s residence in Moncton. Drugs believed to be crystal methamphetamine, oxycodone tablets, morphine pills, and other drugs were seized from the home, Feeney said.

Michael John Burpee appeared in court on Wednesday and is facing four drug-related charges, as well as breach of probation and breach of an undertaking. Burpee was released on conditions and is next scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on September 21.

The investigation is ongoing.
