MDEA Bust Man for Crack Cocaine and Fentanyl
A Massachusetts man has been charged with selling crack cocaine and fentanyl throughout Southern Maine.
MDEA drug agents arrested 44 year old Frank Barrett of Hyde Park, Massachusetts.
For the past three months, agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency York District Task Force has been investigating Barrett for selling crack and fentanyl in the Biddeford/Saco Area.
During the investigation, agents made several undercover purchases of crack cocaine from Barrett. Drug agents arrested him Wednesday, charging him with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs Class A (crack cocaine). The aggravating factor was a school zone. Bail was set at $15,000.
Agents and Biddeford Police located Barrett in the Hannaford parking lot in Biddeford. Barrett was arrested without incident. Agents seized from him about 10 grams of fentanyl.
Barrett was also charged with an additional count of Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs, (Fentanyl), Class A. This charge was aggravated due to a prior 2012 felony drug conviction in Massachusetts. Bail on this charge was set at $10,000 cash.
Barrett was transported to the York County Jail where he awaits an initial court appearance.
