Search Warrant Executed at Suspected Sex Trafficking Location
The Sanford Police Department Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant around 4 pm Thursday at 1328 Main Street, Unit 5.
Police Received Corroborated Information about Sex Trafficking
“The search stemmed from corroborated information related to sex trafficking,” according to Sanford PD.
Promoted as Massage Parlor and Operating for Nine Months
The "Essential 8 Spa" was advertised as a massage parlor at a strip mall. They had been operating from the location for about nine months, said WGME News.
Spa Business Was a Front for Sex Trafficking
Police said the business was a front for alleged sex trafficking after an investigation.

Young Women Worked There and Lived in the Basement
Witnesses said older women managed the place and younger women were working there. The young women were reported to have lived in the basement.

Victims Offered Help and Services with Identity Protected
“The victims of trafficking were offered services. Due to the ongoing danger posed to these victims, we will not disclose their identity or the outcome of the services offered,” said Sanford Police.

Investigation Remains Open and Charges Pending
Charges are pending as the investigation is active and ongoing.
