Seattle police said Carl Gray was crossing a busy street Tuesday morning when he was struck.  The impact cracked the windshield of the Metro Bus.

The morning supervisor at the Starbucks told the Seattle Times that the man—who is about 6’3”—walked up to the counter and ordered a drip coffee. He was bleeding profusely but appeared to be lucid.

A spokesman for the Seattle Fire Department said Mr. Gray suffered a concussion and wasn't making a lot of sense when emergency personnel arrived. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police suspected the bus driver of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol and he was taken into custody.
