
Man Sentenced to Life for Aggravated Attempted Murder in Maine
A 47-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping and attempted murder after beating his girlfriend with a hammer in Maine.
Aggravated Attempted Murder
Djaven Carter from Milford was charged with aggravated attempted murder, kidnapping and two assault charges. He was found guilty in January 2025.
Kidnapped Girlfriend in Secluded Location
Court records said he repeatedly beat his girlfriend with a hammer and drove her to a secluded location in Alton.

Life Without Parole
Carter will serve life without parole. At the time of the attack, he was on parole and has a prior criminal record, according to WABI News.
More Charges
He is also facing additional charges for child pornography possession, assault, and bail violation.
