
Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Drug Trafficking in Maine
A 40-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for drug trafficking in Maine.
Charged with Drug Trafficking in Maine
Kenneth Adams from Union was charged with trafficking and distributing kilogram quantities of fentanyl and cocaine from New York to Maine. He pleaded guilty on December 20, 2024.
Ten Years in Prison and Eight Years Supervised Release
Adams was also given eight years supervised release by U.S. District Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr.
Trafficked Drugs from New York to Maine
“From at least December 2023 through June 2024, Adams trafficked fentanyl and cocaine from sources of supply in the Bronx to mid-level drug dealers in Knox County for further distribution,” according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
Confidential Informant Bought Drugs
Adams sold 250 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant in January 2024. The buy was recorded on audio and video by police. Officers also observed the transaction.
Search Warrant Executed and Drugs and Gun Seized
A search warrant was executed at his Bronx residence. Police seized 260 grams of fentanyl and 780 grams of cocaine. Also recovered was a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun.
In Possession of a Firearm
Court records said he was in possession of at least one firearm related to his drug trafficking activity.
Lead Investigators in the Case
Investigating the case was Homeland Security and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
