A fire Tuesday afternoon destroyed a home in Upper Kent, New Brunswick and displaced two people.

Firefighters responded to the blaze around 3 p.m. on the Upper Kent Road, midway between Florenceville-Bristol and Perth-Andover.

A man and his adult son were not injured in the fire. They are staying with relatives for the time being. Canadian Red Cross volunteers have been assisting with emergency purchases of clothing, food and other basics, according to spokesman Dan Bedell.
