PUCKER UP! Maine Has a Spot on The Top Ten Places to Make Out

Now THAT's a compliment! Out of all of the beautiful places in America to take a date and try and seal the deal with a kiss, Maine has a spot on the top 10 places to make out in the U.S.A. according to a survey of a few thousand Americans done by datingnews.com.

Aside from Maine, here is Who Else Made the List of Top Ten Make Out Spots

Number one on the list is on the Hawaiin island of Maui. The Road to Hana. This one is tough to argue with and I am certainly a little bias as my wife and I were married in Maui and completed The Road to Hana shortly after. It's a tortuous drive that takes a few hours to complete because you are stopping at multiple remote areas filled with beautiful foliage and waterfalls. Yeah, it's a primo make out spot.

Number 2 is the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and Tennessee lands on list again at number 4 with Lookout Mountain Parkway, Chattanooga, Tennessee. I'm not familiar with either, but I know that not too far from both destinations is Broadway Street in Nashville where I have seen waaaaaay too many people making out.

Number 3 on the list is Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, Colorado - and as it SHOULD BE.

On a clear day atop this 14,000 plus foot peak, you can see for miles (unless of course, you are too busy locking lips). These views inspired Katharine Lee Bates to write a little song called "America the Beautiful" in 1893.

Number 5 on the list of best places to makeout in America is in Virginia, followed by some rocks outside of Vegas, then a drive in California at number 7, with Arizona and Florida each claiming a makeout hot spot at number 8 and 9. You can read more on each place here.

That brings us to the crescendo. Numero TEN. It proudly belongs to Maine. Now, while we can argue until our faces are a blue lobster that a good lighthouse in the background is hard to beat when we get down to romantics, but according to this survey, western Maine is the top ten place in America to makeout.
