Maine State Police Troop F Weekly Report (Feb. 13–19)
Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 132 calls for service over the past week in and around Aroostook County. Here is their weekly report:
Incident Type: ASSAULT Date: 2/14/2017 Town: Monticello Trooper: Tr. Sylvia Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia responded to a Monticello residence for a possible assault. Tr. Sylvia spoke with the complainant, and after doing so, determined that it appeared someone had mistaken the complainant for someone else. What appeared to be a small scuffle had occurred, but the victim did not want to pursue any charges, and the other person involved in the incident was not located.
Incident Type: TRAINING Date: 2/15/2017 Town: MCJA Trooper: Tr. Sylvia Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia instructed a class on search warrants at MCJA.
Incident Type: TRAINING Date: 2/17/2017 Town: Ashland Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier instructed an Intoxilyzer class to local officers at the Ashland Police Department.
Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 2/18/2017 Town: Monticello Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins was traveling southbound on Route 1 in Monticello when he measured a vehicle heading north bound going 86MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone. Tr. Kilcollins turned his cruiser around and observed the vehicle attempting to pass another vehicle. Tr. Kilcollins caught up to the vehicle and pulled it over. The driver said he was late taking his son to hockey in Presque Isle. The man was summonsed for criminal speed.
Incident Type: ASSIST OTHER AGENCY Date: 2/18/2017 Town: Bridgewater Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Presque Isle PD put out a BOLO for a black Ford Fusion being operated by a male that had assaulted his girlfriend. Tr. Kilcollins located that vehicle in Bridgewater and made a traffic stop. Tr. Kilcollins placed the man under arrest and relayed him back to Presque PD.
Incident Type: Operating Without a license Date: 2/18/2017 Town: Stacyville Trooper: Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 11 in Stacyville. The operator admitted that he did not have a license and he was summonsed for Operating Without a License.
Incident Type: Stalking/Harassment Date: 2/19/2017 Town: Wallagrass Trooper: Cpl. Hafford Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Hafford finished an investigation into a stalking complaint from last week and summonsed a 49-year-old male from Wallagrass with stalking and harassment by telephone. The male had been texting a female neighbor, identifying himself as “the reaper”. Cpl. Hafford obtained a search warrant for the Verizon messages and with the assistance of Sgt Willette and Det. Cookson of Computer Crimes was able to identify the sender of the messages.
Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
