
Maine Hockey to Face Cornell at Madison Square Garden
The University of Maine men’s ice hockey team will head to New York City this season to play at the World’s Most Famous Arena.

As announced on July 20th, the Black Bears will face Cornell on Saturday, November 28th, at Madison Square Garden in the seventh edition of the Frozen Apple series.
The game will begin at noon to accommodate a New York Rangers game that evening and will stream live on ESPN+.

Cornell and Maine will meet for the second time in three years after the Big Red defeated the Black Bears 2-1 in the 2025 NCAA regional semifinals.
The game will be the ninth neutral-site meeting between the programs, with Maine officials calling Madison Square Garden an opportunity for fans and the university community to support the team in New York.

Maine head coach Ben Barr called the matchup a special college hockey experience and said the team is excited to play a strong opponent at Madison Square Garden.
Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, July 22nd, at noon through GoBlackBears.com/MIHTickets, with additional options available later through Madison Square Garden and Ticketmaster.
