Maine Day Gives Residents Free Admission To Parks, Historical Sites
On Sunday, June 17th all Maine residents can enjoy free admission to Maine State Parks and Historic Sites for Maine Day which begins at 9am and goes right up until the Parks close.
Any vehicle with a Maine license plate will be allowed in for free, however not all parks and sites are participating in Maine Day, so we've compiled a list of parks that Maine residents will be able to enjoy for free on Maine Day.
Parks participating in Maine Day:
Androscoggin Riverlands, Aroostook, Birch Point, Bradbury Mountain, Camden Hills, Cobscook Bay, Colburn House, Colonial Pemaquid, Crescent Beach, Damariscotta Lake, Eagle Island, Ferry Beach, Fort Edgecomb, Fort Kent, Fort Knox, Fort McClary, Fort Point, Fort Popham, Fort Pownall, Fort O'Brien, Grafton Notch, Holbrook Island, Lamoine, Lake St George, Lily Bay, Moose Point, Mt Blue, Owls Head Light, Peaks-Kenny, Popham Beach, Quoddy Head, Range Pond, Rangeley Lake, Reid, Roque Bluffs, Two Lights, Sebago Lake, Shackford Head, Swan Lake, Vaughan Woods, Warren Island and Wolfe's Neck Woods
And the few that are not participating in Maine Day this year include;
Acadia National Park, the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, Baxter State Park, Peacock Beach, Scarborough Beach State Park, Swan Island, the ME Wildlife Park, the Penobscot River Corridor, or the Penobscot Narrows Observatory in Prospect, however admission to Fort Knox State Historic Site will be free that day.
