Ludlow Man Arrested for OUI After Crash in Southern Aroostook
A Ludlow man has been charged with Operating Under the Influence after crashing his pickup truck Saturday evening in a residential area of Oakfield.
Maine State Police Corporal Dennis Quint was called to the scene just before 7 p.m. The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and Oakfield Fire Department also responded to the crash.
State Police say 47-year-old William H. Harrison was driving his pickup too fast around a corner and lost control. The truck went off the roadway and struck a telephone pole. Harrison’s injuries were apparently minor, as he was not taken to the hospital. Police say he was wearing a seat belt.
After conducting field sobriety testing, Cpl. Quint arrested the man and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Clark. Bail was set at $350 cash.
Harrison is scheduled to appear in Houlton District Court on October 4.
