State Police say 58-year-old Larry Belanger of Mapleton was operating a 2005 Freightliner and was making a left turn off the Winship Road onto Route 2A when the rear wheels of the log trailer slid down a steep ditch.

The trailer tipped onto the driver’s side at the intersection, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Clark. The tractor did not completely roll over but did leak diesel fuel, Clark said.

Both lanes of Route 2A were completely blocked until close to 10 p.m. while wrecker crews set the tractor trailer unit back on its wheels. The vehicle had minimal damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
