Lobsters Stolen From New Brunswick Crash Site May be Contaminated
The Blackville RCMP responded early Tuesday morning after a transport truck carrying live lobsters overturned on New Brunswick’s Highway 8.
The crash happened around 2 a.m., according to Sgt. Brent Johnston. Police say the driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries and released.
The truck was carrying live lobsters in tanks which spilled onto the road and down an embankment. RCMP say a number of the lobsters were stolen from the scene before police arrived. Police are advising anyone who took the lobsters that they were contaminated with diesel fuel from the crash and are not fit for human consumption.
The investigation is continuing. We’ll have more details as they become available.
