Limestone Artist Donates Sculptures for 2014 Congrès Mondial Acadien

Getting ready for the 2014 Congrès Mondial Acadien, eight hand carved wooden panels will be on permanent display throughout the Saint John Valley, thanks to Tom Cote a sculptor from Limestone.

The 4ft by 8ft panels depict a traditional scene of Acadian culture and history. So far three panels have been erected by members of the Maine Regional Committee for the 2014 CMA.

Two other panels have already been installed in Hamlin and Portage.

All eight panels will be completed and installed in time for the 2014 Congrès Mondial Acadien.

Cote is donating his time and talents to the project and the wood is being donated by various businesses throughout Aroostook County.
