‘Layaway Angel’ Pays off 16 Accounts Worth $3,000 at Auburn Kmart

A dying woman gave an awesome surprise to some Kmart shoppers in Auburn, Maine.

Near the end of last month a terminally ill woman anonymously paid off 16 layaway accounts at the Auburn Kmart with a final tally of $3,000.

One of the layaways she paid off belonged to Rina Thibeau, who purchases items for children in need as part of her 'Christmas Smilez' charity.

Store manager Joyce Beane said “She was here about 15 minutes... then she said, ‘I’m not feeling well. I need to leave.’”
