Who Is Jennifer Lawrence’s Fiancé Cooke Maroney?
It's official: Jennifer Lawrence is engaged. The actress is set to marry her longtime boyfriend, but just who is Cooke Maroney?
Maroney has been dating Lawrence since around June 2018. The pair have been seen together on several occasions, strolling around New York City as well as Paris and Rome. Maroney, a native of Vermont, is thought to be over six feet tall, as he towers over his five-foot, nine-inch girlfriend.
Many are wondering what Jennifer Lawrence's boyfriend Cooke Maroney's age is. Maroney is reportedly 33 years old. He was born in 1985, though the exact date isn't known.
Lawrence, 28, and Maroney were introduced by a mutual friend. An insider told Page Six that Laura Simpson matched the couple, who hit it off and began their low-key, but apparently very serious, relationship almost immediately.
"The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together," a source said at the time.
An insider told The Cut, "He's not a showboat, it's not like he's a celebrity hound or even a model hound. He just likes beautiful women."
Maroney has been described as "a nice-slash-fun dude" and a "great dude" by people who know him. He's also been called "an all-around good guy and a nice guy."
But what does Cooke Maroney do for a living? He's actually a big name in the art world.
He's the director of New York's Gladstone Gallery, which represents major clients/artists. Lena Dunham's father, Carroll Dunham, Richard Prince, Anish Kapoor and Bjork's ex-beau, Matthew Barney, are all represented by the gallery. Before coming to Gladstone Gallery, Maroney worked at Gagosian gallery — an equally prestigious gallery — after he completed his art history studies at New York University.
"He's definitely respected. He's not a big player, but he's a player," an insider told The Cut about Maroney. "I'd say he understands what good art is, as opposed to a lot of art dealers who just like to go to parties and do deals. I know that he likes contemporary but I know he also appreciates modernism. I think he really has solid taste in art and he's a very good art dealer, and I expect a fruitful career out of him."
While the insider noted that Maroney isn't just about the parties, another source told the outlet he "goes to a lot of art-world parties." That particular source noted that he enjoys a good time and "definitely drinks."
"He's definitely fun-loving but I wouldn't say he's out of control," the source said. "He likes to have fun, a young good New York guy who likes to participated and have fun. When we would hang out we would definitely drink, we would have fun."
Like his fiancée, Maroney is not very active on social media. He has no public accounts, though he does appear to have a private Instagram with a few hundred followers.
Before they got together, Lawrence was linked to Darren Aronofsky and Nicholas Hoult. She and Maroney have been together since last spring and appear to be engaged. Page Six reported that they were seen together at Raoul's in Manhattan on Tuesday, where Lawrence was spotted wearing a massive ring. The couple appeared to be celebrating.
