If you're already planning out your next weekend adventure in Maine, you might just have "visit a stunning waterfall" on your checklist.

The Pine Tree State has a bunch of really good ones, too, including Moxie Falls in Forks, Step Falls in Newry, or Screw Auger Falls in North Oxford.

Sure, you could hit those spots up, but you should also consider Angel Falls, a gorgeous hidden gem waterfall you can get to with a relatively short hike.

Intrigued? We got you.

Where is Angel Falls in Maine?

Angel Falls is located in Township D in western Maine, and according to Maine Trail Finder, it only takes an "easy to moderate 1.1 mile-round trip hike" to see the beauty.

Maine Trail Finder does note that while the trail is generally easy, the stream crossings require some rock hopping, which could be tricky for some people, and during high water, the streams may be difficult to cross.

AllTrails.com lists this hike as more of a moderate challenge, but both trail websites note it's about a short 30 minutes to get to the falls.

Northeast Hikes makes sure to note that the trail starts on a logging road and to follow the red blazes, as there are some side paths that you might think are part of the trail but aren't.

At the same time, many of the reviews on AllTrails.com note that if the gate is closed due to washout, that can add some extra mileage time before you even get to start the actual hike.

But even with some of the obstacles, the falls have high marks for their beauty.

One reviewer even said: "I’ve seen a lot of waterfalls in New England, Angel Falls is in my top 5. I did not want to leave! I spent over an hour watching this incredible sight."

How Tall Is Angel Falls in Maine?

Angel Falls is a tall waterfall for sure.

Maine Trail Finder says this particular one is 90-feet high with a "'hanging' plunge" and is often compared to Moxie Falls.

The trail website also notes that the water running down creates the shape of an angel’s wing, hence the name.
