With that in mind, how can we determine how many states Maine offers direct flights to? And if we’re being honest, does it really matter?

To determine how many states you can fly directly into from Maine, we used DirectFlights.com to review available flight routes from Bangor International Airport and Portland International Jetport. By checking the destinations these airports offer nonstop service to, we identified which states are directly accessible.

Now that we’ve cleared that up, let’s dive in: how many states can you fly to directly from one of Maine's airports?

Again, according to DirectFlights.com and information from Bangor International Airport and Portland International Jetport, travelers from Maine can fly directly to 17 states. These include popular destinations like Florida, New York, Texas, and Colorado, as well as Washington D.C. and several others across the East Coast, Midwest, and South.

There you have it. While you can fly anywhere with connecting flights, from Maine, you can fly directly to 17 states, including Washington, D.C.

Does this number surprise you? Is it higher or lower than what you expected? And where was the last place you flew? We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
