Hot Air Balloon Catches on Cable at 2013 Crown of Maine Balloon Fest [PHOTOS]

On Saturday, August 24th an Aroostook County photographer managed to capture what could have been a tragic accident during the 2013 Crown of Maine Balloon Fest.

The photo shows a hot air balloon taking off for an evening flight from the Northern Maine Fairgrounds in Presque Isle. According to a local hot air balloon pilot - spotting a cable like the one in the video isn't easy.

The cable stretches around a race track in front of the grandstands.

Those inside the basket were very lucky and managed to have a smooth ride after the initial scare.
