The RCMP is investigating a single-vehicle crash in northeastern New Brunswick Thursday night that left four teens injured.

Bathurst RCMP responded to a call around 10:45 p.m., regarding a crash on Route 322 in Robertville, just northwest of Bathurst. Sgt. Marc Tremblay said a car driving north left the road, rolled over and struck a tree. The four occupants– two 15-year-old boys and two 16-year-old boys–all from the local area, were injured.

Robertville Fire Department also responded and the Jaws of Life were used to extract one passenger from the vehicle. All four teens were taken to hospital for treatment of various injuries.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. One lane of Route 322 was closed through the night but reopened early Friday morning.

Police do not believe alcohol or drugs to be factors in the crash, however, speed may have been a contributing factor. The investigation is continuing.
