Investigation Ongoing after Fire Destroyed Camper in Maine
A fire destroyed a camper Tuesday afternoon on Outback Jack Drive in Oxford.
Generator Possible Cause
“While investigators cannot rule out a generator as a possible cause, the extent of the damage has made it impossible to determine an exact cause at this time,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Neighbors Called 911
Neighbors called 911 after seeing smoke and flames around 12:29 pm. The Maine Fire Marshal’s Office, Forest Rangers and the Maine Forest Service responded to the scene.

No One Injured
No injuries were reported and the camper was not occupied at the time of the fire.
Ongoing Investigation
Fire officials said there was no electrical service to the camper. The investigation is active and ongoing.
