Emera Maine Upping Its Rates for County Residents

Warning! Your electric bill is about to go up!

Beginning July 1st, Emera Maine customers are going to see changes in their electricity delivery rates.

A typical Emera customer in the Maine Public District here in northern Maine, using 500 kWh per month, will be billed about $1.03 MORE per month than under previous rates. However, Emera Customers in the Bangor Hydro District, using 500 kWh per month, will be billed about $3.53 LESS per month than under previous rates.

Customers will see changes to three rates on their bills: transmission, stranded costs and conservation. However, Emera's distribution rates will not change.

New customer rates will be posted on the company's website, emeramaine.com as of July 1st.
