Emera Maine To Install More Fault Indicators On Overhead Lines
Emera Maine crews will continue their mission of installing fault indicator equipment on select overhead lines to help safely restore service quicker during outages.
After a fault occurs on a line, fault indicators emit a bright, flashing light for up to 16 hours and help crews to quickly identify which specific part of the power line needs to be repaired.
Please be aware of Emera Maine crews on the roadways as they continue to install the fault indicators.
When you see crews working on the side of the roadway, please slow down, proceed with caution and obey any and all sign men who may be directing traffic.
Emera Maine plans to install several hundred fault indicators to long sections of a line as well as locations where lines enter and exit utility right-of-ways off roadways.
