
47-Year-Old Man Died & Dog Injured after Crash in Maine
A 47-year-old man died Friday and a dog was seriously injured after a crash in Brunswick.
Died at the Scene
Shannon MacGregor from Woolwich was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fatal Crash
The crash happened on Route 1 near the Route 196 ramp around 7:30 pm.
Driver Lost Control On Bridge
The Brunswick Police Department said MacGregor lost control of his 2013 Dodge Journey as he went over the bridge.
Vehicle Went Over Barrier and Fell
He left his lane, drove up an icy embankment, over the barrier and fell to the ground below.
Dog Injured and Taken to Vet
The injured dog was transported to a local vets and is expected to make a full recovery.
On-Ramp Closed
Route 1 northbound was closed for several hours and the on-ramp was completely closed.
Crash Reconstruction Unit Investigating
The investigation is ongoing and the Brunswick Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit was at the sight.

Multiple Agencies Responded
Assisting was the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office, the Topsham Police Department, the Freeport Police Department, the Brunswick Fire Department and the Maine Department of Transportation.
