Mayor Cory Booker unveiled the first pieces of jewelry from the “The Caliber Collection" this week on the Rachel Maddow Show. Booker said the idea is to turn the melted guns and shell casings into "instruments of peace."  Part of the profits will go to the city's gun buyback amnesty program.

The name Caliber was chosen for two reasons: the caliber of a gun and how the caliber of a city is raised when illegal guns are taken off the streets. The steel and brass bracelets are engraved with the serial numbers of melted-down weapons and range in price from $150 to $375.

You can see the collection here.
