Caribou Man Escapes Utility Truck Crash
Maine State Police say a mechanical failure led to the crash of a utility truck on the Van Buren Road in Connor Township on Tuesday.
Trooper Andrew Levesque responded to the crash shortly after noon time. State Police say 46-year-old Eric Violette of Caribou was driving south in a 2012 Ford utility truck owned by New England Telephone (Fairpoint) when a sudden mechanical issue caused Violette to lose control of the steering.
The truck went off the road and struck a guard rail. There was substantial damage to the guard rail, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Clark.
Violette was not injured in the crash. There’s no word on how much damage was done to the truck.
