Canadian Red Cross Assisting Tenants After Waterville Fire
The Red Cross is helping a family of three that was displaced by a fire in the rural community of Waterville, New Brunswick, just north of Woodstock.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 4 Palmer Road around 4 p.m. Wednesday. Officials say the fire started in the kitchen and damaged part of a house divided into two apartments.
Disaster volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross have arranged emergency lodging, meals and other basics for a couple and their five-year-old daughter, according to spokesman Dan Bedell.
Residents of the other apartment were evacuated but returned home once the fire was extinguished.
