A 21-year-old Ashland man faces charges after his pickup crashed early Tuesday morning in Mapleton.

Around 1:30 a.m. the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office received a call from OnStar reporting a possible rollover crash on the Mapleton Road, according to Sheriff Shawn Gillen.

Prior to arriving, Sgt. Erica Pelletier learned that the driver had left the scene after his 2019 GMC Sierra went off the road and became stuck. Police say the driver, 21-year-old Tyler MacDonald of Ashland, was located and summonsed for imprudent speed and leaving the scene of an accident. Alcohol was also a contributing factor in the crash, Gillen said.

MacDonald was apparently not injured. Presque Isle Police and Presque Isle Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The pickup was towed due to disabling damage.
