Four People Fled from the Maine State Police and Deputies
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said four people fled from police in the area of Colley Hill Road around 10:54 pm on Tuesday, November 18.
Three People Detained and a Fourth Person Eluded Police
Three of the individuals were detained shortly after fleeing from police. A fourth person eluded authorities.
K9 Team Tracked and Located Suspect in a Nearby Swamp
A K9 team from Cumberland County was deployed to track and locate the suspect. He was soon located in a nearby swamp.
Suspect Told Police He was Armed and Challenged Law Enforcement
The suspect told police he was armed with a handgun and challenged law enforcement, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Assistance from the Emergency Services Unit Called to the Scene
The Cumberland County Regional Emergency Services Unit was called to the scene and responded to assist.
Police Negotiated with the Suspect Until He Surrendered to Authorities
Police negotiated with the suspect for an extended period of time as he was contained to the area. He eventually surrendered and was arrested.
No One was Injured in the Incident
No injuries were reported and names and ages were not released.
