It’s that time of year again! It’s time for craft fairs around our area. I know I just love a good craft fair. It’s an annual tradition really.

Every year my mother and I, and now my daughter, go to the annual craft fair in Houlton. There is always a lot to see. I mostly just do some window shopping, but every year I buy that homemade cotton candy and always a handmade wreath from a local vendor. It‘s a time to socialize with those you only see once a year, a time to really take in the season.

So with that said, I’ve come up with a list of craft fairs from around our area.

The Houlton Recreation Department will hold the Houlton Winter Crafts & Gifts Fair on Friday and Saturday, November 23 and 24th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Gentle Memorial Building - 128 Main Street Houlton. It is free to the Public and has over 50 different Crafters.

The Greater Fort Kent Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Arts and Craft Fair in Fort Kent on Saturday and Sunday, November 24 & 25 at the UMFK Sports Center. Doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission for adults is $1, children 12 and under may attend free.

The Van Buren Ladies Auxiliary # 49 will host a Craft Fair on Saturday and Sunday, December 1 & 2 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Van Buren Legion Home.

St. Mary's Church in Houlton will hold a Christmas Craft Fair & Luncheon on Saturday, December 8 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

I know craft fairs are plentiful this time of year, so which ones will you be attending?
