A New Jersey man has been sentenced to prison for possessing child pornography.

According to court records 66-year old Newall Mowry from Paterson, New Jersey received a sentence yesterday in U.S. District Court to 10 years in prison and 10 years of supervised release for child pornography possession.

The report went on to state that in October of 2017, Mowry reentered the U.S. from Canada and had possession of a laptop computer which contained numerous files of child pornography that he had downloaded from the internet.

All the children on the file were under the age of 12.

Along with his prison sentence, Mowry was also ordered to pay $32,500 in restitution for four victims and a $5,000 special assessment to the Domestic Trafficking Victims' Fund.

Mowry pled guilty on March 21.

This is not Mowry's first offense of the same crime. In 1999 he was convicted in New York for possessing child pornography, which had much to do with the outcome of his recent sentence.
