3 People in a Buggy Ejected & Horse Put Down after Crash in Maine
Three people in a buggy and another driver were injured, and a horse was put down Friday morning after a crash on Main Road in Bradford.
SUV Crashed with Horse and Buggy
The Maine State Police said 28-year-old Kendra Page from Bradford tried to pass the horse and buggy as a vehicle was approaching from the opposite direction.
Driver Tried to Wedge Between Horse and Buggy
Page “tried to wedge between the horse and buggy to avoid hitting the car. Page didn’t have enough room and struck the buggy from behind,” said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
Three People Ejected from Buggy
Three people were ejected from the buggy and were taken to the hospital with injuries. Page was also transported to the hospital.
Horse Critically Injured and Put Down
The horse had “life-threatening injuries which caused it to be put down,” said Moss. The crash remains under investigation.
