A 24-year-old man died after he was hit by a 70-year-old man in a construction zone in Orland on Tuesday.

Truck Hit Flagger in Construction Zone

Charles Resh from Searsport was working as a flagger directing traffic on Acadia Highway around 6:57 am when he was struck by a passing truck.

Flagger Died and Driver not Injured

Resh was transported to Northern Lights Maine Coast Memorial Hospital where he died from injuries. The driver, Clint Clagett from Bucksport, was not injured.

Crash Investigation Remains Open

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said the crash investigation is ongoing.
