
11 Dogs and Four Cats Died after House Fire in Maine
At least 11 dogs and four cats died Tuesday night in a house fire in Avon.
Fire Department had to Locate Fire Down Long Driveway
The Philips Fire Department said it took almost 45 minutes to locate the house that was at the end of a long driveway behind trees.
Drone Used to Locate House Fire
A drone was deployed to help find the house as fire crews searched for the location.
Fire Engulfed the Home
The fire engulfed the home on Miles Square Road around 9:40 pm. The flames could be seen above the ridgeline.
No One was Home and No Injuries Reported
No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured and no injuries were reported for fire crews.
At Least 11 Dogs and Four Cats Died in Fire
A total of at least 11 dogs and four cats perished in the fire, said WGME News.
Vehicle Destroyed and Nearby Woods Caught on Fire
A vehicle in the driveway near the house caught on fire and was destroyed in the blaze. The fire also spread to the nearby woods and was contained.
Investigators Looking for Cause of Fire
Eight fire departments responded to the call. Investigators with the Maine Fire Marshals Office were on the scene to determine the cause.
Extent of Fire
Officials said the extent of the fire made it difficult to confirm what started the fire.
