Woman Killed in Crash in Saint-Antoine, New Brunswick

Police say a single-vehicle crash Thursday evening in Saint-Antoine claimed the life a 38-year-old woman from Cocagne, New Brunswick.

RCMP received a 9-1-1 call at around 6:30 p.m. reporting a vehicle had gone off Route 525 in Saint-Antoine and struck a power pole, according to Sgt. Patrick Tardif of the Richibucto Detachment.

The driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, succumbed to her injuries at the scene, Tardif said.

The preliminary investigation indicates that speed and road conditions may have been contributing factors to the crash.

The RCMP is asking that anyone who may have been travelling along Route 525 and may have witnessed the crash to call the Richibucto RCMP at 506-523-4611.

The investigation is continuing.
