Wanted Man Arrested after Overnight Police Standoff in Maine
A 44-year-old man wanted on felony warrants was arrested early Saturday morning after an overnight police standoff in Auburn.
Wanted on Felony Warrants
Police said Jacob Pendexter was wanted on multiple felony warrants including Domestic Violence and Kidnapping.
Violation of Bail Conditions
Officers executed an arrest warrant for Pendexter on Snow Avenue Friday evening. He was prohibited from the address and was not allowed to have contact with the victim.
Woman told Police he was not in Residence
A woman at the residence said he was not there and refused to let the officers in the home.
Hiding in Basement
“A short time later, police received confirmation from a family member that Pendexter was inside the residence and hiding in the basement,” said Auburn Police.
Maine State Police Tactical Team
Police tried to contact Pendexter but did not get a response. The Maine State Police Tactical Team was called to the scene.
Arrested and Taken to Jail
“Around 2:00 am, the female exited the home unharmed, but Pendexter remained inside. Officers continued to try to establish contact and at 3:38 am, Pendexter finally exited the home and was taken into custody without incident,” said Auburn Police.
