According to Little White Lies, Stephen and Tabitha King's plan to rezone their West Broadway Street home as a non-profit has been approved by the city of Bangor.

Their plan is to convert their home into a combination museum / writer's retreat.

The museum, which will contain King's archives, will be open by appointment only.

The retreat will only accept five writers at a time and you can bet the vetting process is going to be tough.  In other words, there is a good chance only really serious writers are going to be allowed.  No Stephen King super fans who wrote a few short stories back in high school or college.  Can you blame them?

So, if you're a serious writer, you really could live with the man responsible for horror classics like It, Pet Semetary, and The Stand.  But, there's a good chance he could be staying at his Oxford County residence.

No word on when the museum or retreat will open.
