I look forward to this time of year all year long…. Not gonna lie… It’s mostly because of the candy! Easter is the second best-selling candy holiday in America, after Halloween, according to History.com. And I truly believe that!

When you think of Easter candy, you think of chocolate bunnies and eggs.  Eggs have long been associated with Easter as a symbol of new life and Jesus' resurrection. Jelly beans became associated with Easter in the 1930s. Did you know that over 16 billion jelly beans are made in the U.S. each year for Easter? Yes, it’s true! That’s enough to fill a giant egg measuring 89 feet high and 60 feet wide. One of my favorite Easter candies is the Peep! It has been the top-selling non-chocolate Easter candy for the past decade.

Peeps. No Easter Basket is complete without this staple! These delicious, sugary treats come in all sorts of shapes, from the classic chick to the bunny rabbit. It doesn’t matter the shape, I love them all!

Cadbury Eggs. The Cadbury Brothers started manufacturing filled eggs in 1923 but the Crème Egg in its current form was introduced in 1971. You can’t avoid the Cadbury Crème Egg even if you tried because it sits atop every counter where candy is sold during Easter.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs. I don’t know what it is, but I love these more than the classic peanut butter cup. The Reese’s Egg has become a staple of Easter and is truly the perfect marriage between chocolate and peanut butter!

The Chocolate Bunny. It just wouldn’t be Easter without a chocolate bunny! Personally, I prefer the hollow ones!

Chocolate Eggs. I’m clearly a lover of chocolate, so any little bit is a bonus! I like the chocolate Crunch eggs and the Butterfinger ones the best!

Now that you know my Top 5 Favorite Easter Candies, what are yours?
