Three Charged in Central Aroostook Farm Stand Thefts
Maine State Police have arrested three Presque Isle residents for allegedly stealing cash from a number of farm stands in Aroostook County.
At around 7 p.m. Saturday, Troop F received a report that the owners of a farm stand in Blaine had their cash box damaged and the money stolen. Corporal Chuck Michaud took the initial call. His investigation revealed that several farms stands in the Central Aroostook area had cash boxes broken into and money stolen from them, Michaud said.
Surveillance footage obtained from the farm stands helped to develop a suspect vehicle and persons of interest in the crimes. One suspect was located later Saturday evening and some of the stolen cash and other evidence was recovered. Police arrested two other suspects on Monday.
Corporal Michaud charged 38-year-old Christopher Cyr, 42-year-old Wendy Bartley and 36-year-old Patricia Hyde, all of Presque Isle, with multiple counts of Theft and Criminal Mischief.
All three have court dates in Houlton District Court of September 19 and Presque Isle District Court of September 22. There are 2 different court venues because one of the stands was in Monticello and while the other stands in Blaine, Easton, and Westfield.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Maine State Police at 532-5400 or send a message via social media.
