The History of the Bra on National BRA Day [PHOTOS]
Historically, women have used a variety of garments to constrain, cover, hold, and protect the appearance of their 'girls'. Take a trip with us down memory lane.
Today is National BRA Day. That stands for Breast Reduction Awareness Day.
The day is set up to recognize a huge area of concern for many women. Breast reconstruction is an option for women, especially if they have had a mastectomy or lumpectomy.
A Canadian plastic surgeon by the name of Dr. Mitchell Brown started National BRA Day in 2011. It is observed on the 3rd Wednesday in the month of October every year.
The event expanded to the U.S. in 2012.
So, today, we thought we would highlight this day by showing a bit of history of women and the different types of bra's they wore and what they wear today.
