Maine State Police – Troop F’s weekly incident report…

09/08 – Sgt. Fuller responded to a single vehicle crash in remote T12-R12, 20 miles west of Ashland. The operator had left the scene after falling asleep and driving off the road into a stream. The man was located at a nearby hunting camp by Game Wardens. The accident was coded as alcohol related.

09/09 – Tr. Sylvia was working traffic on Route 1 in Blaine and arrested a 31 year old Bangor man on an outstanding warrant. The man was a passenger in the vehicle.

09/10 - Tr. Flynn investigated a burglary complaint stemming from an assist to FFPD. Tr. Flynn requested an arrest warrant for Burglary, Theft, VCR and Felon in Possession of Firearm for a 32 year old Presque Isle man who stole 4 firearms from his mother’s residence in Woodland. Suspect is still being held in West Haven, CT and will be extradited back to Maine at the end of the month on FFPD’s charges.

09/10 - Tr. Casavant investigated a family fight that occurred the previous evening in Blaine. The 54 year old complainant alleged he and his 19 year old daughter were threatened by her 21 year old live in boyfriend and the boyfriend also did damage to the vehicle and house. The alleged conduct was unfounded and the boyfriend and daughter have relocated to live with her mother.

09/11 - Tr. Flynn arrested a 74 year old Presque Isle man for dumping tires and causing damage to the property of a previous tenant. Subject was charged with Criminal Mischief, VCR and Littering >15 lbs. but < 500 lbs. He was currently out on bail out of Penobscot County.

09/11 - Tr. Casavant was called to Stockholm for a lost or stolen firearm. The owner had been shooting at a local shooting range and forgot his rifle there. Upon returning to the range the firearm was missing. The investigation is ongoing.

09/12 - Tr. Lilley responded to domestic assault in Linneus and arrested male subject for an assault on his wife.

09/12 - Tr. Levesque and Det. Stetson responded to a report of a male and female fighting in Caswell and the report indicated the female had used a knife to cut herself. After investigation it was discovered that female had not cut herself and no threats or assaults occurred. Female went with her mother to her residence and the male stayed with his father. The male and female are both juveniles, no charges.

09/13 - Tr. Shawn Whalen was able to locate a suspect in a theft of computers from the Woodland school that he investigated several weeks ago. After further investigation, a male and female were charged with the theft and Tr. Whalen continues to follow leads to get the computers back.

09/14 - Tr. Flynn arrested a 36 year old Mapleton man for OUI and also charged him with usable amount of marijuana.

09/14 - Tr. Casavant responded to a family fight in Washburn. A 15 year old called and wanted the police to take him to the crisis center. Tr. Casavant talked to the involved parties and determined no crime was committed and it was more of a family issue to resolve. The family agreed to let the boy go to bed and talk to him further in the morning.

09/15 - Tr. Whalen was working a construction detail when he cited a Ludlow male for OAS. His girlfriend who was the passenger was also suspended. They were going to make their own arrangements to get home. About 25 minutes later Tr. Whalen observed the vehicle on the road again this time with the female operating. He stopped the vehicle again and issued the female a summons for OAS.

 

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. In addition, the Troop patrols Interstate 95 from Sherman to the Canadian border in Houlton.
