
Teen Charged after Throwing Gun During Police Chase in Maine
A 17-year-old was arrested early Friday morning and charged with carrying a concealed weapon after he threw a gun during a police foot chase in Lewiston.
Juvenile Violating Curfew Threw Gun During Police Pursuit
The Lewiston Police Department said the juvenile was violating curfew around 2 am on Webster Street.
Teen Fled on Foot
The teen fled on foot when officers approached him.
17-Year-Old Threw Gun During Police Chase on Foot
During the pursuit, the 17-year-old threw a .45 caliber handgun he had in his possession.
Juvenile Taken into Custody and Gun Recovered
Police caught the suspect and apprehended him. The gun was recovered by officers on the scene.
Teen was on Probation
“The juvenile was in the community on Juvenile Probation at the time,” according to Lewiston PD.

Taken to Youth Correctional Center and Held
He was transported and held at the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
17-Year-Old Charged with Illegal Gun Possession and Refusal to Submit to Arrest
The teen was charged with Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, Falsifying physical evidence, Carrying a concealed weapon, Refusal to submit to arrest/detention, Probation hold and Curfew violation.

Teen has 12 Prior Crimes Including Felonies
“This juvenile has been charged with nearly a dozen crimes prior to this arrest, including numerous felonies,” said the Lewiston Police Department.
