The Presque Isle Elks Hoop Shoot foul shooting contest for kids from 8-13 years old was recently held at the Wieden Hall gym of the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
A seventh-grade student at Presque Isle Middle School won the Elks’ New England regional Hoop Shoot contest on Saturday at Westbrook High School.
Following the Presque Isle Elks Hoop Shoot foul shooting contest held on Sunday, January 8, six area youth will now advance to the Northern District Elks Hoop Shoot to be held on Sunday, January 15, at the James F. Doughty School in Bangor.
Boys and girls ages 8 through 13 will be competing Sunday in the annual Hoop Shoot free throw contest at Wieden Gymnasium of the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Faith Sjoberg, 11 year-old daughter of Kevin and Susan Sjoberg of Presque Isle, earned the trophy for fifth place in her division at the Elks’ National Hoop Shoot Competition held in Chicago, Illinois, on Saturday.
