NEWPORT, Maine (AP) — Police have charged a 14-year-old student with terrorizing following the discovery of a threatening note at Nokomis Regional High School in Newport, Maine.

The note left on a bathroom mirror warned that someone would shoot up the school on Friday.

The Bangor Daily News reports that students sheltered in place before being sent home at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Police later arrested the boy at home and charged him with misdemeanor terrorizing. He was released into his father's custody.

The incident came on the same day that a Bangor High School student was arrested after allegedly bringing a stolen handgun to school.
